Park offers active kickoff to New Year
Get 2017 started off right with a hike through the “Cathedral of the Trees” at Daingerfield State Park. An experienced Park Ranger will take you on an awe-inspiring trek around Lake Daingerfield providing insight on the natural world found in East Texas. Numerous studies have shown that those who enjoy and exercise in the woods have a much happier outlook on life, are more productive at work and are healthier in general. Make Daingerfield State Park your new place to exercise and experience all the wonders a natural Texas has to offer.
Meet at the trailhead near the historic Pavilion at 2 p.m. on Jan. 1. Please wear comfortable hiking footwear and bring a bottle of water for your two-andhalf mile hike. Bring your family and friends. Entrance fees are $4 for adults and children 12 and under are always free at Texas State Parks. Become a member with a Texas State Park Annual Pass for $70 which will waive your entrance fees at all 92 Texas State Parks plus everyone in your vehicle for over a year.
