My Wish List for 2017

A Patriot's Opinion
By Jim Snyder

Well, every year I like to make what
I call my wish list for the New
Year. Of course, all of these things
never seem to get done, but somehow I feel
more confident in this year’s list. Despite
what certain individuals said about not having
hope, I think there is a great deal of hope
for the New Year. So here we go.
I wish/want this country to come together
to resolve our differences. I want to see people
stop being democrats and republicans
and start being Americans first for a change.
I want politicians to stop dividing us into little
special interest groups and start doing
what we are paying them to do. For far too
long, their only interest has been running
for re-election rather than running our
country.
I wish/want this country to become 100
percent energy independent from every
other country in the world. We have the
resources and the ability to do this, but the
problem has always been the lack of the will
to do it. I blame our tin horn politicians for
that. I hope our new president will make this
a priority. We need our oilfield related jobs
back, especially here in Morris County.
I wish/want the wall or fence with Mexico
to be completed ASAP. Illegal immigration
should not be a partisan issue.
Unfortunately, that’s what it has been for
decades. Without a border, you have no
country. And here is a message to all of the
Republican and Democratic politicians:
Stop worrying so much about trying to get
illegals registered to vote and concentrate on
protecting this country from the invasion
that you have created. This is about national
security. And sanctuary cities need to
become obsolete. Harboring criminals is
illegal, even if you’re a mayor of a sanctuary
city. Are you listening San Francisco?
I wish/want America to return to respecting
our law enforcement community. If you
have never worn the uniform of a law
enforcement officer, then you have no right
to criticize what you don’t understand.
These people risk their lives every day to
protect all of us and they have gotten very little
support from this administration in the
past eight years. If you have issues with the
people who are sworn to protect you, then
you are the problem. I’m sick of the lies perpetrated
by the media and hate groups when
someone gets killed by the police. There is a
very simply way to avoid trouble, it’s called
compliance. In other words, stop being part
of the problem and start being part of the
solution.
I wish/want to see radical Islam be eradicated
from the world. And I really don’t care
how it happens. Americans are tired of
chicken do-do politicians trying to play nice
with people that are sworn to kill us. We
have some of the most sophisticated weapons
systems and bombers in the world, and
it’s high time we started using them again.
It’s like they used to say, the best way to break
up a bingo game in Iraq is to holler “B-52.”
We are fixing to have grown ups in charge
come Jan. 20, so let’s “Git-R-Done.”
I wish/want people as a whole to stop with
the constant “Oh I’m offended by this or
that.” 2016 was the year of the Whiners.
Every one of us is born with a backbone, so
use it. Stop the constant whining about how
hard you have it. I find it humorous how college
students who are attending a $50,000 a
year school (which is being paid for by their
parents) cry and whine about how they are
so offended by some words written in chalk
on a sidewalk. Oh how scary!!! Grow up,
buttercups.
When you
g r a d u a t e
from your little educational bubble you are
going to encounter what the rest of us know
as the real world. Yeah, it’s tough out here
but guess what it: always has been.
I wish/want the media in this country to
go back to reporting the news. You remember
like they did 30 years ago before they
became partisan hacks for political gain.
There are very few objective journalists left
in this country. Stop putting your “spin” on
the news and just report it as it happens.
Ninety-nine percent of you rolled over and
played dead for Hillary Clinton and embarrassed
yourselves beyond belief. CNN and
MSNBC were the worst of the lot.
And finally, I wish/want everyone to give
the new president a chance. He has the ability
and the potential to turn this mess
around. And yes, there is a mess.
Unemployment is NOT 4.9 percent. The
economy is NOT booming as you were told.
Healthcare is NOT cheaper and more
affordable as promised. Look around you
and ask yourself honestly, are you really any
better off than you were eight years ago? We
have hundreds of our own citizens right here
in this county who are out of work because
of the policies of the current administration.
So give Mr. Trump a chance. If he improves
this country and brings our jobs back, it will
benefit all of us. I don’t care what his hair
looks like, or whether he talks like a normal
politician, or what he did 25 years ago. I care
about results. You let a man with no experience
run this country for 8 years. We know
how that turned out. So let’s give a man who
has decades of business experience a chance
as well.
