Daingerfield falls to Pewitt Brahmas
The Lady Tigers hosted
the Paul Pewitt Lady
Brahmas on Friday, Jan. 13,
still looking for their first
district win.
In the junior varsity
matchup, The Lady Tigers
fell, 21-17. Hannah Herron
and Desiree Brenton had 6
each; Sam Smith had 5;
Desiree Coffey and Alice
Moon had 2 each for
Pewitt. For the Lady Tigers,
Gekayla Alexander and
Jahkayla Doddy had four
points each; Quay
Latchison had five; and
Jamie Nix and Tori Bennett
had two each.
In a varsity matchup that
saw the Lady Tigers leading
at halftime, a second
half surge by Pewitt proved
too much, as the Lady
Tigers fell, 42-34. Ebbony
Cobbins had 26 points to
lead the Lady Brahmas;
while Taya Jackson had
eight points.
For Daingerfield,
Montrevia Durham had 10
points, four rebounds, and
three steals; while Kahleyia
Johnson added six points,
nine rebounds, and four
steals. Dee Hall contributed
seven points, six
rebounds, and four steals;
Mo Sok had four points;
Kiara Robinson had four
points, four rebounds, and
one block; and Jasmine
Tatum added three points
for the Lady Tigers.
Daingerfield travelled to
New Boston on Tuesday,
Jan. 17. This began the second
round of district play
for the girls, with Queen
City currently leading the
district with a 7-0 record.
