Graveside services for Mrs. Mildred S. Wooten, age 91, were held August 2 at Hughes Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Willie Katharine Thompson McCain was born March 2, 1951 in Atlanta, and passed away Saturday, July 29, at her home in Hughes Springs. A private burial will take place at County Line Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. McCain was preceded in death by her parents, John Thompson, Jr. and Mary Katharine Harrison Thompson. She is survived by her husband of 43 years and high school sweetheart, Wymor Milton McCain of Hughes Springs; daughters, Heather McGregor and husband James of Daingerfield, and Amber Hunt and husband Donny, of Atlanta; three adored grandchildren Mary Katharine McGregor, William McCain Hunt, and Chandler Ray Hunt; brother, John Thompson III and wife Paula of Atlanta; three nieces and one nephew Christy Wooldridge, Troy Key, Heather Hornbuckle, and Hope Thompson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, and friends whom she loved deeply. Willie Kay was a long time resident of Atlanta, Texas until she retired in Hughes Springs where she spent the last twenty years. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1973 with a Business degree. Her life and career were marked by an exceptional sense of integrity, strength, and courage rooted in an abiding faith in God and a deep love for family.
