New system easing burden on Morris County Jail

DAINGERFIELD – A new program implemented by the Morris County District Attorney’s office has already begun to ease the burden on the Morris County Jail, according to a report by investigator Ross Dickson.

Dickson, who was sworn into the investigator’s position on July 24, is part of a new plan by District Attorney Steve Cowan. In the new system, Dickson visits the Morris County Jail every morning, assessing the cases that have entered since the previous day. After his assessment, Dickson informs Cowan of his recommendations.
