Summer Feeding Program

Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD is sponsoring the summer feeding program. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch is 10:50 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. All children under the age of 18 eat free. The program runs through July 11. Breakfasts are at the South Elementary café. Lunches are taken to Daingerfield City Park each day at 11 a.m., Lone Star City Park at 11:30 a.m., and County Squire Apartments at noon.

Pageant

Miss American Sweetheart Pageant will be held June 29, at 10 a.m., at the Linden-Kildare High School Auditorium for ages 0-18.  Deadline to enter is June 15. Contact Jamie O'Rand-Stone for more information at:  903-756-5577 or 903-756-5041 orandstone@hotmail.com.

Cheer Clinic

There will a cheer clinic held at the Daingerfield High School June 14 and 15 for ages 2 to 12. On June 14 the clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and students will require a sack lunch and a water bottle. On June 15, it will be from 8 a.m. to noon, with the parent show at 11 a.m. For more information contact Skye Staples at 903-285-2993.

Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park are held at dusk at Spring Creek Park in Hughes Springs. June 14 will be the “Life of PI” and June 15 will be “Sinbad.” “Tooth Fairy 2” will show June 28 and “Bee Movie” on June 29. For questions, call 903-639-7519 or 903-639-2351.

Passing Camp

The Daingerfield Tiger Passing Camp for sixth through ninth grade students will be held June 18 through 20 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. For information and registration, contact Coach Aric Sardinea at 903-645-3465 or any junior high school coach.

Car Wash/Bake Sale

The FFA is holding a garage sale/car wash/bake sale on June 29, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Daingerfield High School. This will be to raise money for students to go to the state convention.

Vacation Bible School

Williams Chapel Baptist Church on Highway 259 South of Omaha will host vacation bible school “Finding the Heavenly Treasure” June 12 through 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served each day. For further information, call 903-204-8136.

Barbecue and car show

The men of New Birth Baptist Church will be having a barbecue sale and car show on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. on New Birth property off Highway 49.

Men’s Day

On June 23 the men of New Birth Baptist Church will be having Men's Day. Bishop J. W. Hester of Greenville, S.C. will be the guest speaker.  This event begins at 3 p.m. at the Daingerfield Annex Building.
