Tigers’ first half better than record indicates

DAINGERFIELD – Daingerfield has finished up their non-district schedule. With their bye week coming prior to the start of the district slate, it is time to take a look at how the Tigers ranked after the first half of the season.

Although they notched a 1-3 record during the non-district portion of their schedule, the Tigers still logged some eye-popping stats during the first half of the season. Offensively, the Tigers put up 1137 yards of total offense. The majority of those yards were gained on the ground, with 826 yards rushing for the Tigers. Nine rushing touchdowns were earned on the ground for the Tigers. Tiger quarterbacks accounted for 311 yards and three passing touchdowns in the first four games.

Individually, senior quarterback Reggie Jeter has led the offense, with 24 completions on 56 attempts for 283 yards and three touchdowns. Jeter only threw one interception during the first four games. Jeter also rushed 59 times for 357 yards and six touchdowns. Senior running back and wide receiver Trodarius Lynn had 40 carries for 205 yards over the first four games.
