Larry Moore
MELISSA – Larry Moore, formerly of Hughes Springs, left this world Nov. 26. Larry was born Dec. 13, 1933 in Monett, Ar. He was a naval veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1953 to 1956.He worked in the construction industry throughout the United States before settling in Hughes Springs in 1968. He was a longtime employee of Friedman Industries, helping build Friedman and is subsidiaries, Texas Ferris and Texas Tubular. For the last 30 years, he and his wife resided in Lubbock. Larry passed away in his sleep at his daughter’s home in Melissa. He was preceded to our maker by his parents, John and Alta Moor and his sister, Juanita Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Koeppe Moore, of Melissa; two sons, Preston Moore and wife Rhonda, of Daingerfield, and Alan Moore and wife Gail of San Angelo; two daughters, Sherry Rippletoe of Melissa and Laurie LaComb and husband Dave of San Diego; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. As per his request, Larry’s body was donated to science. No memorial is scheduled at this time.
