POTTSBORO – Jae Kathleen (Shankle) Garman, age 65, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017. Jae was born June 8, 1952 in Greenburg, PA., the daughter of Perry and Marcile (Haberer) Shankle. She was raised in Daingerfield, a graduate of DHS, Class of 1970 and attended Kilgore Collage. She married Perry E. Garman in May of 1972 and lived in Carrollton until Perry’s retirement in December 2010. They moved to their lake house at Lake Texoma in Pottsboro. Jae worked in HR and pension benefits until her retirement in 2001. Jae is survived by her husband, Perry E. Garman, her two sons, William Richard Garman and wife, Ginger of Loveland, CO. and Jon Rolan Garman and wife, Lindsay of Fort Worth; grand children, Regan and Grace of Loveland, CO. and Ian and Owen of Fort Worth; brother, Wick Shankle of Daingerfield, TX; sisters, Julie Cole of Lake Stevens, WA. and Patsy Shankle of Surry, ME.; and her “sassy sista’s”, Frankie, Jackie, Julie, Linda, Lisa, Marie, Mary, Porkie, Sandy, Shedara, Sohing and Bernice. Jae is preceded in death by her father, Larue A. Shankle, mother, Marcile (Haberer) Shankle, sisters, Freda Bates, Theresa Grimes and Robin Smith “sassy sista’s” Jae’s passions in life were her family, her 30+ years playing Pokeno with her “sassy sista’s”, communicating with her DHS alumni via Facebook and her relationship at Saint John the Apostle Episcopal Church in Pottsboro. Celebration of Life for Mrs. Garman will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Jan. 6 at Saint John the Apostle Episcopal Church, 760 W. FM 120 Pottsboro, Texas 75076, reception and inurnment to follow. Flowers should be sent to Saint John’s Church or in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice or to Saint John’s Church.
