Beatrice Rhea Edwards
MOUNT PLEASANT -- Beatrice Rhea Edwards, age 99, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Sunday Dec, 24, 2017 in Daingerfield. Funeral services were held Dec. 27, 2017, at Curry- Welborn Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Bridges Chapel Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Rhea was born April 19, 1918 to Alford Rodman Kelso and Annie Irene Popps Kelso in Caldwell, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, and was retired from the State of Arizona where she served as Clerk of The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County, Phoenix for more than thirty years. She is survived by one sister, Bobbie Robison; two brothers, Kent Kelso and wife Carol, and Kenneth Kelso and wife Anna; a sister-in-law, Pat Kelso; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Edwards, the love of her life; her parents, Alford Rodman Kelso and Annie Irene Popps Kelso; five brothers and two sister-inlaws; Robert Kelso and wife Geneva, William Kelso, Brooks Kelso, Rhodman Kelso and wife Rose, and Jerry Kelso. Her family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation for loving friends and caregivers at Bluebonnet Assisted Living in Naples, Windsor Place Nursing Home in Daingerfield, Cypress Basin Hospice in Mount Pleasant, First Touch at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, and others too numerous to name. In lieu of flowers, the family request remembrance gifts be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Mount Pleasant, Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, Ore City, and Cypress Basin Hospice, Mount Pleasant. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Curry- Welborn Funeral Home.
