Run-off approaching in County Judge race
By TONI WALKER
DAINGERFIELD – Two candidates are making their final pushes prior to the May 22 run-off election for County Judge. Republican candidates Doug Reeder and Jimmy Gilliam are both campaigning in the run-off.
In the Republican Primary in March, Reeder and Gilliam, along with Jim Snyder, made up the Republican ballot for Morris County Judge. After the primary votes were counted, Reeder narrowly missed winning the republican nomination, finishing the evening with 47.06 percent, or 664 votes. Gilliam received 34.66 percent, or 489 votes. Since no candidate received over 50 percent of the votes, the two men learned their campaign would continue until the run-off, which was scheduled for May 22.
