Rankin

Services for Janis Rankin, 87, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at Reeder-Davis Chapel with Bro. Bryan Baggett officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Mrs. Rankin was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Hughes Springs to Nathaniel and Sadie Harrell Gibson and died June 4.

She was married to Arnold J. Rankin, on July 2, 1943.  Early in their marriage they enjoyed several years of snow-capped mountains, sandy desert, and the grassy valley of Blue Diamond, Nev.  Homesick, they moved back home to Hughes Springs and enjoyed 58 years together.

Mrs. Rankin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs.  She enjoyed her family and visiting with friends.  She never met anyone that she would not strike up a lively conversation with.  Her smiles would brighten any moment.

Rogers

A memorial service for Sidney Lee Rogers, 75, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7, at Church on the Rock in Daingerfield with Bro. Randy Seybert officiating. Services are under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.

Mr. Rogers was born July 13, 1937, in Noel, Mo., and died June 1 at a Daingerfield nursing home.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Violet Rogers; and one sister, Nelda Aims.

Survivors include his wife, Maribeth Rogers; one daughter Sandy Deyo; one son, Randy Rogers; one brother, Wayne Rogers; one sister, Lillian Alexander; two granddaughters, Heather Elwell and Rebekah McArthur; three grandsons, Randy Rogers Jr., Simeon Rogers, and Alex Elwell; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Elwell.

Darden

Graveside services for Paul Edward Darden 86, of Linden, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, in New Colony Cemetery with James Forte and Dwain Curri officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden.

Mr. Darden was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Bell County, to Walter Carl and Emma Louise Parker Darde Bell and died Saturday, June 1, in Linden. He worked at Red River Army Depot and Stanco Manufacturing. Mr. Darden was a Baptist.

Brunson

Graveside services for Helen Brunson, 93, formerly of Linden, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 3, in Linden Cemetery.

Mrs. Brunson was born June 30, 1919, in Lamar County to Isaiah Bradford Logan and Homa Meacham Logan and died May 29 in Abilene.

Cobbins

Services for Elwilla Cobbins, 86, of Daingerfield, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. D.A. Hill officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Cason.

Mrs. Cobbins was born Dec. 12, 1926, to Clara and Algie Linwood in Cason and died May 29.

McCollum

Services for Joey Wayne McCollum, 41, of Naples, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, at the Naples Church of Christ in Naples with Roger Scully and Bryan Peck officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery in Naples.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at the Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of Mount Pleasant.

Mr. McCollum was born Nov. 30, 1971, in Dallas, to Jerry and Judy McCollum of Naples, and died May 29 at his home.

Tindel

Services for Martin Gettis Tindel, 90, of Linden, will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden with the Rev. John Taylor officiating. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. in Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Tindel was born July 15, 1922, in Canton to John Rufus and Bessie Briggs Tindel, and died May 25 in Linden.

Watkins

Services for Mary Louise Watkins, 73, of Dallas, formerly of Daingerfield, will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, at Reeder-Davis Chapel with Bro. Dan McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Inc. of Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Watkins was born Jan. 26, 1940, in Daingerfield and died May 23, at a Dallas hospice.

Lee

Services for Lorraine Lee, 94, of Douglassville, will be held Sunday, May 25, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Miss Lee was born July 31, 1918, in Cass County to Parks and Louella Surratt Lee and died May 22 at her home.

Betts

Services for Celia Ruth Burrow Pollard Betts, 91, of Tyler, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden with Jerry Thomas and Ken Summerfield officiating. Interment will follow in Linden Cemetery.

Mrs. Betts was born Oct. 26, 1921, in Cass County to Robert Wade “Bob” Burrow and Lillie Maud Burleson Burrow and died May 21 in Tyler.
