Funeral services for Deloris Ann “Dede” Hill, 54, of Hughes Springs, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, at Reeder-Davis Chapel.  Burial will follow at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. 

 Miss Hill was born Nov. 28, 1958, in Naples, and died May 19, at a Mount Pleasant hospital.  She worked for the Hughes Springs Junior High School for 21 years.  She loved reading.  She was a member of the Daingerfield Book Club.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs and was an avid doll collector.

Services for Carlton “Oss” Edmondson, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Interment will follow in Ore City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service.

Mr. Edmondson was born April 24, 1929, to Willard and Ollie Mae Edmondson, and died May 14.

Services for Billie Dove Hughes, 84, of Lone Star, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, at Lone Star Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Monds officiating.  Interment will follow at Daingerfield Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  There will be a time of visitation from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hughes was born May 1, 1929, in Mena, Ark. and died May 16, in a Pittsburg hospital.  Mrs. Hughes taught school in Hughes Springs and Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District and retired from teaching in 1995, after 26 years. She loved and wrote both music and poetry and also loved to sing. She directed the youth choir for two years and taught Sunday school at Lone Star Baptist church where she was a member since 1957. Mrs. Hughes also volunteered with Hospice and with the Lone Star Education Center, and read to children at the Library.

Jacqueline “Gani” Nelson passed away March 16, in Texarkana surrounded by her husband and children. She was 70 years old and a resident of Daingerfield. She spent many years as a store manager and the last few years as an onsite park attendant at Cass County Park near Atlanta.

Given the name “Gani” by a grandchild, she came to be known as that by friends and family, not just her grandkids. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. Gani took special care of and pride in helping to raise her grandchildren. Mrs. Nelson was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Anniston, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Harris and her father, Preston Eugene Harris.

Services for Billy M. Wellborn, 80, of Hughes Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Crossroads Baptist Church with Laarry Deeley officiating.  Interment will follow at Dennis Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.  There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8, Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Wellborn was born Oct. 26, 1932, and passed away May 15. He served in the Army and was retired from Lone Star Steel.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lena Wellborn; one granddaughter, Anna Claire Lewis; and one brother, Grady Wellborn.

Services for Johnny G. Shores, 75, of Kildare, were held Saturday, May 18, at Pinecrest Baptist Church in Linden with the Rev. Bryan Baggett officiating. Interment will follow in Kildare Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Shores was born Sept. 25, 1937, in Rodessa, La. To John and Lorene Hensley Shores and died May 15 at his home.

Mrs. Bazar was born March 17, 1924, in Arkansas and died May 14,  in Longview.

Mr. Fuller was born Sept. 6, 1945, in Atlanta, to Orville Lee and Wilna Fant Fuller, and died May 11 in a Shreveport, La. Hospital.
