“I miss the good old days”

Ah yes, the good old days. I am sure most of those who are 45 years old or older can relate to some of this. But even if you are younger than that this will be a good history lesson on how we did things back then. How many of you have ever dialed a rotary phone? Or picked up the phone and heard your neighbor talking on it because you were on a party line. Yes, we were dinosaurs back then. There were no pagers, cell phones, tablets, or any other electronic devices and somehow we survived. From My Perspective

by: Toni Walker Steel Country Bee Editor I have had the pleasure during my short time as editor of the Bee to meet many interesting people. I have realized that there are many amazing people in this area. I have met people who will be moving out of the country as missionaries, men who had very storied careers in law enforcement, and individuals who have lived through a liver transplant.

A Patriot's Opinion

By Jim Snyder

Hillary’s email- gate, here we go again
Well Hillary Clinton is the center of attention once again. Please tell me that no one is surprised by this latest scandal. Her history should speak for itself. All of the mysterious deaths in Arkansas when Bill was governor, the slime that was Whitewater. Or when she earned $100,000 on a $1,000 investment in 9 months in cattle futures. The Rose Law Firm billing records that magically appeared in Mrs. Clinton's White House office. A Patriot's Opinion

I have seen the ads for years for online colleges or colleges offering online courses and degrees from the comfort of your
own home. Well I never realized how much they were charging people for the convenience of never leaving the comfort of
their pajamas.

From My Perspective

by Toni Walker, editor of the Bee

As I sit here, deciding what to write about this week, several possibilities come to my mind. I start writing something, delete it, and write something else, only to end up deleting that as well.
As a parent of young children, I have tried to teach them how to dial 911 to get help, as I think most parents have.

From My Perspective

By Toni Walker, Editor of The Bee

I have been sitting here thinking about the snow we have had the last few weeks, and a few thoughts have occurred to me.
First of all, I don't like snow as much as I used to. Well, at least I don't like this cold, wet, slushy snow like the snow I was used to.
I grew up in Northeast Texas, so my childhood did not have much snow.

Open Carry in Texas: Good or Bad idea?
The Texas legislature is currently considering a bill to allow open carry of firearms in Texas. Now, I know I may step on a few toes here but here goes. First let me qualify my statements by saying that I have been a firearms instructor for more than 20 years and have been involved in law enforcement and security for over 20 years as well.

Are you willing to wait for God to speak?

By: Daniel Bramlett

What do you do when you run out of things to say? You don’t repeat
yourself: “Didn’t I already tell you to do that?” You don’t make
something up: “No, I didn’t say that! I said this…” You don’t make a funny: “You
wouldn’t hear what I was saying if it was coming at you through a megaphone!”
You certainly don’t chew on the person: “I wouldn’t repeat it to you again if I
could!” So, what do you do? You wait…
