Truly Wise

by TIM SMITH Assistant Pastor of The Next Level Church in Daingerfield Life is a grand search. Each of us searches for something. Maybe it is that career, or that spouse, a house or a car. The list of searches can go on and on and on and never seem to end. In our searches, we plan, dream, scheme and save to enable us to fulfill that which we believe will bring happiness, contentment, or fulfillment to our lives. Christmas Holidays bring many extra searches. These searches usually entail perfect gifts for loved ones, or for the perfect tree on which to hang all our precious, treasured ornaments. Many of us will search for that perfect menu because this year on Christmas Day the family will gather at our house to celebrate. And then, many will try to find that special gift in which to show our spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriend just how precious they really are. So in conclusion, we have many types of searches for many reasons. But after this holiday what then?

Keeping CHRIST in Christmas

From My Perspective By Toni Walker For many out there, Christmas is their favorite time of the year. I am one of those. Between the lights, the music, the gettogethers, and all else that Christmas brings, in my opinion there is no better time. As good as all those things are, though, the thing that makes this season better than the rest is that this is the time where God’s hope for a sinful world came to earth, in the form of a helpless baby. The joys of the Christmas season

A Patriot's Opinion

By Jim Snyder

Everyone has certain things that really make the Christmas season special for them. One of the biggest joys of the Christmas season for me is always the music. Whether it’s Christmas carols or your favorite Christmas songs there is nothing better to put you in the mood. Of course, a little snow always helps, but here in East Texas snow storms come few and far in between. Truth, the gift of Christmas

By Daniel Bramlett, Pastor of First Baptist CHurch, Hughes Springs

What is it about hard situations that make us want to run? I can’t stand that gut feeling that says “This isn’t going to work out well,” when it nearly always does. I hate avoiding conversations, even though they nearly always end up positively. Why do we avoid hard things? I think it’s in our nature. Why didn’t Adam and Eve just go to God and say “Remind us what will happen if we eat from that tree. Holiday Memories

By Toni Walker
Editor of The Steel Country Bee

The holidays for most is about getting the entire family together and celebrating
all that is important. For most, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of over a
month’s worth of celebrations, get-togethers, food, friends, and family.

Why will this president not commit to destroying ISIS?

A Patriot's Opinion
By Jim Snyder

This is a question that is being asked more and more every day. The terrorist
attack in Paris was just the latest attack by the group called ISIS. This Islamic
militant group has proven over and over that they really don’t care who they
kill. They have butchered Christians, women, children, and basically anyone
who doesn’t believe in their cause.

From My Perspective

"To All Our Veterans: We Salute You!"
From the foundation of this great nation, it has not been the politicians
or the businessmen who have given us the freedoms we enjoy. We owe all
of our freedoms to the American soldier.

A Patriot's Opinion

"An appointment with my two-wheeled therapist" By Jim Snyder Now some of you may be saying, what in the world is he talking about. But many of you may have already figured out that the two-wheeled therapist I am referring to is a motorcycle. Most people have some way to deal with stress or just to escape the rigors of everyday life. Some choose meditation, while others may go golfing, or taking a relaxing walk through the wilderness. But for me it’s taking a ride through the mountains on my motorcycle.
