Applications for the EIC will be accepted at DPS driver license offices across Texas.

Pool owners should take proper precautions

By Marlene J. Bohr

Mbohr@steelcountrybee.com

Summer is here, the days are long and the temperatures are climbing toward that 100 degree mark and probably will stay that way until the end of September. More and more citizens seek relief from the heat by installing pools.

The local police department urges residents to be mindful of pool safety not just for yourself, but for others.

Statistics show a child can drown in less than 5 minutes and it only takes 2 inches of water. Drowning can happen in complete silence; you won’t hear a child scream or yell for help.

Can you be certain this cannot happen, ever, in your pool?
