HUGHES SPRINGS -- Vida Lee Davidson Lewis was born into this world on Feb. 2, 1922 and entered her greater reward on Nov. 1. She was the first of six children of Hamlet and Cora Davidson born near Saltillo, Texas. She learned early how to cook, care for younger siblings, and to work hard in the West Texas cotton fields. She left the family and cotton fields at age eighteen, traveling by train to Arizona to find adventure and create a better life. She descended the Grand Canyon on a mule and possessed this courage and adventurous spirit through life by taking her first motorcycle ride on her 90th birthday. Vida’s mission and calling was to love and care for all, especially children. She cared for a family and children in Arizona before moving back to work as a hospital aide at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Set up on a blind date by a future sister-in-law, Vida met Vernie Francis Lewis at the Texas State Fair in 1948.

ORE CITY -- Services for Victor Molina Hernandez, 30, of Ore City, were held Nov. 3, at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Gilmer. A later, second service was held Nov. 3 at Our Lady of Fatima in Daingerfield. Burial followed at Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. LINDEN---- Services for Michelle Lea Phelps, 43, of Linden, were held Oct. 30 at First Baptist Church in Linden with Bro. Bryan Baggett, Bro. Dwayne Lemmon and Bro. Charles Russell officiating. MARIETTA -- Services for Nolan J. Moore, 84, of Marietta, were held Nov. 5, at Oak Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. AUSTIN -- Charline Stowers Coco, age 79, passed away Oct. 24 in Austin. She was born Aug. 17, 1938 in Annona, Texas to Millard and Grace Morrison. Charline lived in Daingerfield and attended high school at Annona High School. She later attended the University of Alabama and the University of Houston with a degree in Psychology. She retired from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services after over 30 years of state service in Houston and Austin. Charline served as an Investigator, Public Information Officer, agency Custodian of Records and manager of the Consumer Rights and Services Division. Charline married John Caleb Stowers in 1959 and had two children, John and Jean Christina. They lived together in Las Cruses, New Mexico, Huntsville, Alabama, and eventually relocated to Clear Lake City in 1965. She moved to Austin in 1983. She married Vincent Joseph Coco in 1987. Charline was an avid reader and loved shopping sales at clothing, pawn, and mall shops.

LINDEN -- Services for Adden Jaquan Levi Haynes were held Oct. 28, at New Light Baptist Church in Linden. Adden was born March 14, 2017 and died Oct. 22. An online guest book may be signed at www.reeder-davis.com.

LINDEN -- Services for Samuel Earl Taylor, 87, of Linden, were held Oct. 26 at Pinecrest Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Mr. Taylor was born Nov. 21, 1929 and died Oct. 22.
