John Hendrix

Hendrix Memorial services for John Hendrix, 66, of Daingerfield/Grand Prairie will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at Veal Switch Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with Paul Sweet officiating. Mr. Hendrix was born Oct. 22, 1947, in Stillwater, Okla., and died Aug. 20, in Arlington. He was a member of Matthew Road Baptist Church. John was a highly decorated Staff Sergeant of the US Army during the Vietnam War era with eight years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Hendrix and brother, Hal Hendrix. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Hendrix; daughter, Ashlea Wilson; sons, Brent Hendrix and Dwain Knight; and sisters, Susan Brown and Peggy Schnell. Graveside services for Virginia Lynn Ginger Morris Johnson, 51, of Krum, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Haynesville, La. Visitation will be at 2 p.m., followed by her service at 3.
Mrs. Morris was born Feb. 7, 1963, in Marshall to Harold and Ann Morris of Haynesville, La. and formerly of Hughes Springs, and died Aug. 23.
Ginger graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1981 and attended Texarkana Community College where she graduated with a degree in vocational nursing. Throughout her career, she touched the lives of many people while working in the Dallas area as an LVN. She was a kind, caring, forgiving person and was an exceptional nurse who brought care and comfort to everyone she met. She was a true friend, and a loving mother, a special daughter and a wonderful sister.

Interment will follow at Ore City Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Ore City. There will be a time of visitation Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Coleman was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Mart, and died Aug. 25 at his home.

McFarland Services for Gayle McFarland, 54 of Daingerfield will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Curtis Eppnett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 untill 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Gayle was born on Sept. 17, 1959, in Daingerfield and died on Aug. 24, in Daingerfield. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a RN for Good Shepherd Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her mother Anne Fair. Survived include her husband Kevin McFarland of Daingerfield; sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Trisha Wilson of Hughes Springs, Derek Wilson of Hughes Springs and Glenn McFarland of Pittsburg; daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Chris Robertson of Daingerfield; father, Richard “Dick” Fair of Daingerfield; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Patty Fair of Diana and David and Tressie Fair of Daingerfield; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chad Bowers, Bryan Bowers, Mike Coke, Kyle Bowers, Chuck Coke and Bill Owens with Robby Holcomb as an honorary pallbearer.
Mrs. Willson was born Dec. 15, 1952, in Pittsburg and died Aug. 18 in Lone Star. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Lone Star.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Troy Owens; her mother, Myrtle Manes Owens; and one sister, Frances Holcomb.

Nell went to her heavenly home at the age of 86 on Aug. 14, after a lengthy illness in Longview.
