Bee Staff Writer

The Daingerfield Tiger’s basketball team season ended Feb. 28 in Pattonville with a loss to the Whitewright Tigers. The Tigers played two playoff games in the span of four days, winning one and losing one. Whiteright senior Mason Riggins slam dunked to open up the scoring for the game and it was all downhill for Daingerfield after that as Whitewright rolled to a 70-55 Class 3A Region 2 Area-Round victory. Shortly after Riggins’ aerial acrobatics, Avery Dodson followed with a 3 pointer to set the tone for the afternoon’s game.

Lady Mustangs prepare to take the diamond

By Rick Colegrove
Bee Staff Writer

Baseball and softball season is here in Hughes Springs. It is widely known that the Hughes Springs area starts them young with hopes of making the varsity teams for Hughes Springs. This year is no different and the varsity teams for our hometown Mustangs are primed and ready to hit the field, and want to make deep runs in the playoffs.
The Lady Mustangs are coached by Tisha Thompson, who has a career record of 99-54. She brings a combination of youthful exuberance and bulldog tough work ethic to her team. It translates to a winning product on the diamond, with her teams making it to the playoffs the last 3 years. Last years’ team was an eye-popping 26-5 and rolled through the regular season, led by then senior Ashlin Roach, who is now playing college ball at Tyler Junior College.
