Texas Heritage National Bank celebrates 125th Anniversary

On May 1, 1889, nine men pooled capital and formed a bank known as ‘The Bank of Daingerfield’ with assets totaling $26,000.  At that time, the town of Daingerfield, only consisted of a dozen frame houses.   In 1892, the bank was issued a national bank charter and the bank’s name changed to ‘National Bank of Daingerfield.’   Over the next 100 years the bank grew to $43 million.   Eventually, through acquisitions and expansions, branches were established in Omaha, Ore City and Sulphur Springs and the name was changed to Texas Heritage National Bank (THNB).
