Daingerfield Alumni Association holds 6th Annual Alumni Dinner

The Daingerfield Alumni Association held their 6th Annual Distinguished Alumni Dinner on September 26th. Being honored at the event was Joe Skipper, EG McMillan, III, Dr. T. Randall Lee, and Reverend Anthony Pondant. The evening began with a steak dinner, graciously prepared and served by the Daingerfield Fire Department. After the dinner, the Master of Ceremonies, Steve Cowan, began by introducing each recipient, and sharing candid moments of times at Daingerfield High School. Business and Professional Women serve one another, community

In 1971, a group of 17 business and professional women gathered together and organized the
Daingerfield Business & Professional Women’s Club. Though many of those founding members
are no longer with them, the club continues to serve the community and further the endeavors of
women in all walks of life.
Since its organization in 1971, the club has continued to be active in the community, with
members and the club contributing to local events.

Avinger holds Annual Wine Festival

The CRESS Community Foundation held its first Avinger Wine Festival on
the third Saturday in September of 2013. On September 19, they held their 3
celebrated with their Third Annual Wine Festival.
For the first two years, the festival was held on the magnificent property of
Spike and Jackie Salmon.

Firemen to host Daingerfield Days 2015 Steak Dinner

Teachers return in preparation for new school year

Whether they will admit it or not, students are always excited for the first day of school. Many have spent the summer with family or traveling, and they look forward to seeing their friends again on that first day. Teachers, it turns out, are no different! They look forward to the first main day of in-service, where they have the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues they have not seen in almost three months.

Hughes Chapel seeks to rebuild

On Friday, January 9th, members of Hughes Chapel Missionary Church in Hughes Springs received word that their building was on fire. Volunteer firefighters worked to save as much as possible, but the sanctuary was a total loss. Now, members are gathering to discuss matters concerning the church, including possible rebuilding.
