Greer Farm offers more than just berry-picking fun

Southwest Dairy Farmers teach kids importance of eating healthy

Instrument sales and repair shop opens in Hughes Springs

Hughes Springs welcomed a new business on June 12, with the opening of Tooter’s, an instrument repair and
sales shop. Jim and Carol Sinkule celebrated the grand opening of the new store with members of the Chamber
of Commerce and the community. Mr. Sinkule spent 40 years selling, cleaning, and repairing instruments for
Tatum Music Company out of Longview.

Local cemetery honors Civil War veterans

Eleven year old Rebekah Nelson, of Atlanta, assisted with a Civil War Veterans dedication at Shelton-Rankin Cemetery. Rebekah’s great-great-great grandfather was one of the veteran’s honored.

After several attempts, the Shelton-Rankin Cemetery has finally dedicated the Civil War veteran monuments. Eight of the Civil War veterans buried there were honored on April 25. The ceremony featured Civil War color guard, flags, prayers, a rifle salute, and words of remembrance. State employee arrested on tampering charges

The Morris County Driver’s License Office is closed until further notice following

On Monday, June 1, Elizabeth Ralston, of Ore City, was arrested by Texas Rangers at the Morris County Courthouse. Ms. Ralston was employed as the Driver’s License Clerk by the State of Texas at the Morris County Department of Motor Vehicles. “Ms. Ralston was arrested on charges of tampering with government records,” said Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin. Local veteran participates in Brookshire’s “Heroes Flight”

In 2010, the Brookshire Grocery Co. embarked on a mission
to escort a group of World War II veterans to Washington
D.C. to visit the World War II Memorial (completed in 2004),
along with several other points of interest. “Brookshire’s World
War II Heroes Flight” first took place on May 11 & 12, 2010,
with 38 veterans and 19 others, mostly Brookshire’s employees,

Hughes Springs game postponed after umpire's collapse

By Rick Colegrove Bee Staff Writer

The further a team progresses in the playoffs, the tougher the competition. Pilot Point proved to be a worthy adversary. The regional semi-final match-up started on Thursday evening in Bonham, Texas, at a fancy new facility. What the facility did lack though was enough seating for all the fans from both towns who had flocked to see some serious softball being played. Game 1 got started and throughout the night, it was a pitcher’s duel between Kaitlyn Morris and Louisiana Tech signee Preslee Gallaway from Pilot Point.
