Shannon Services for Doris “Mickey” Juanita Shannon, 49, of Meeker, Colo., will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Shannon was born Sept. 22, 1964, and died Nov. 23.

Services for Earl Lawrence “Ben” Benjamin, 89 of Hughes Springs were held Nov. 25, in Hughes Springs, with the Rev. Heidi Cain officiating. Interment was in Cornett Cemetery.
Mr. Benjamin was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Perry, Mich. to Rex and Angie Ann Miller, and died Nov. 21.

Services for Roger Clyde Myers, 73, of Hughes Springs, were held Nov. 21, at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, with Jeremy Cain officiating. Interment was in Sardis Cemetery.
Mr. Myers was born April 14, 1940, in Shreveport, La., and died Nov. 18, at a Longview hospital.

Services for Charles Swift, 88, were held at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Linden on Nov. 21. Interment was in the Linden Cemetery.
Mr. Swift was born on April 7, 1925, in Clarksville, Ark. and died Nov. 18 at his home in Linden.

Services for Charlie Cleo Vaughan, 85, of Daingerfield, were held Nov. 22, in Hughes Springs. Interment was in Clark Cemetery.
Mr. Vaughan was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Corsicana and died Nov. 19 at his home.

Benjamin
Services for Earl Lawrence “Ben” Benjamin, 89 of Hughes Springs will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs, with the Rev. Heidi Cain officiating. Interment will follow at Cornett Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs. The McCain-Benjamin families will receive visitors on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Benjamin was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Perry, Mich. to Rex and Angie Ann Miller, and died Nov. 21.

Vaughan
Services for Charlie Cleo Vaughan, 85, of Daingerfield, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs, Interment will follow in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation from 6 to 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Vaughan was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Corsicana and died Nov. 19 at his home.

Services for Charles Richard O’Dell, 80 of Daingerfield were held Nov. 19, at the Bradfield Chapel Methodist Church with Jerry Irvin officiating. Interment was in the Bradfield Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.
Mr. O’Dell was born on July 22, 1933, in Daingerfield to Ernest and Cleo O’Dell and died on Nov. 15, in Longview.
He was a member of Bradfield Chapel Methodist Church and was retired from Lone Star Steel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Phillips.

Services for Geneva Stewart Ryle, 92, were held at First United Methodist Church in Hughes Springs on Nov. 15.   Interment was in Hughes Springs Cemetery. 
Mrs. Ryle was born on Dec. 7, 1920, in Malvern, Ark., and passed away on Nov. 12, in a local nursing home. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband A. Hiram Ryle, son M. F. “Bub” Ryle, grandson Stewart Lee Clark, and son-in-law G. W. “Bill” Clark.
She is survived by one daughter, Nita Clark of Hughes Springs; grandchildren, Brandi and Mark Dalhoff of Nacogdoches, Christy Martinez of Frisco, Cindy Clark of Grapevine, Kevin and Susan Clark of Pearland, Monica and Todd Silvest,  Natalie and Doug Keller, Nicole Carmadelle, all of south Louisiana, Andy Ryle of Arlington, Dijon and Shirley Ryle of Poplarville, Miss; 24 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.  Special neighbors who gave her great joy are Nathan and April Jones and their sons.

Services for John Edward ‘Eddie’ Smith, 85, were held Nov. 19, at Harrison Funeral Chapel in Naples.  Interment was in Springhill Cemetery in Naples under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home.  
Mr. Smith was born Oct. 24, 1928, and died Nov. 15. He loved to fish, hunt, road trips and spending time with his family, whom he loved very much. Eddie owned and operated Daingerfield City Cleaners for over 30 years.  Upon retirement, he became the original American picker.  He loved garage sales and auctions.
Pop, as he was lovingly called by his family, was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Smith and Cecil Mae Taylor; one brother, Bobby Gerald Smith; one sister, Nancy Bell Johnston; his wife Reba McCellon; one stepson and his wife, Marion and Betty McCellon.
