Lewis Mickey Elwood Mayne

Mayne Services for Lewis “Mickey” Elwood Mayne, 93, are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Daingerfield. Interment will take place in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Mickey died at home having lived his life to the fullest for 93 years. He was born March 21, 1920, in Cuero, to the late Henry and Irene Mayne. Mickey’s ancestors were among the first colonists to come into Texas with Stephen F. Austin (known as the Old Three Hundred. They settled in La Grange on the Colorado River in December of 1823. Mickey spoke often with great pride of his family’s history and his membership in the Sons of the Republic of Texas. Mickey was a standout athlete beginning in junior high excelling in track and field. He was a football star in high school, where he was referred to as the “Cuero Crusher”, a back who could also pass the ball and kick. His senior year he was chosen to play in the North South High School All-Star football game at Rice Stadium.

Services for Marshall André Robinson, 71, of Marietta, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Father Juan Sardinas officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery in Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, at the funeral home.
Mr. Robinson was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and died Oct. 18 in San Jose, Calif. He was a security consultant for over 50 years, and the owner of Marshall Robinson and Associates Inc. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Daingerfield, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Robinson was a concealed handgun license instructor, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Texas State Rifle Association.

Leland Virgle Cockrill of Hughes Springs died Oct. 22, at the age of 81.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Cockrill; his father, TJ Cockrill; sister, Betty Blair; and son, Lee Cockrill.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Cockrill; his daughter and son-in-law, LuAnn and Bobby Moore; and his grandchildren, Kristen Zdonczyk and her husband, James, Garrett Cockrill, Tyler Moore, and Brittany Steen and her husband, Colt.

Graveside services for Richard Eugene Robinson, 76, of Daingerfield will be held at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Tim Gibbs officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral home.
Mr. Robinson was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Amarillo and died Oct. 23, in Tyler.

Pearl Westene "Polly" Hinton

Hinton Pearl Westene Hinton, better known as “Polly” died on Oct. 22, at her home in Avinger. Her valiant fight with ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease), was done and she departed for her heavenly home surrounded by the loving care of her husband, Coy, her family and friends. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through the long struggle with her typical grace and joy. Mrs. Hinton was born on July 25, 1934, in Charlotte, to Earl W. and Sylvia Blalock Abernathy. Known for her kind heart, beautiful smile, and devout faith, she and Coy shared over 60 years of marriage and raised three loving daughters, Norma, Cindy, and Ramona. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her gift of a peaceful disposition, shown through her constant smile, will never be forgotten. Polly and Coy met in her hometown of San Antonio and the couple was married on Dec.

Mr. Guest was born June 30, 1960, in Mount Pleasant, to Charles and Wanda Guest and died Oct. 9 in Mount Pleasant.

Services for Kathleen Beard Hall, 81, of Ore City, were held Oct. 10, at Hughes Springs Church of Christ with Johnnie Coleman officiating.  Interment was in Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. 
Mrs. Hall was born July 29, 1932, and died Oct. 6, at her home.  She worked at Catfish Village for 15 years.  She loved working in her yard and had some beautiful flower beds.  On the weekends she and her husband loved, more than anything, to go fishing and camping.  They spent a lot of time on Wright Patman Lake (Kelly Creek) and she could always tell you where to catch a fish.  She loved everyone with her whole heart and she never met a stranger. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dayton Orville Beard and Pauline Louise Beard; one brother, Bruce Beard; one sister, Bonnie Raye Wood; and one son, Orville Lee Duncan.
