Higgins

Services for Gertrude Viola Higgins, 93, of Hughes Springs, were held Nov. 4, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Bramlett officiating. Interment will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Higgins was born July 28, 1920, in Tulsa, Okla., to Thomas and Hazel Hurst and died Oct 30.

Martin

Services for James Allen Martin, 88, of Tullahoma, Tenn., were held Oct. 29, at Kilgore Funeral Home in Tullahoma.
Mr. Martin was born Dec. 19, 1924, and died Oct. 27, in Tullahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Martha Louise Martin; and his parents, James Alfred Martin and Estelle Camp Martin.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Ron Willis of Madison, Ala.; and his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lynne Martin of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five grandchildren and their families, Christopher Willis of Apex, N.C., Dr. Jennifer Willis Ball and her husband, Dr. Travis Ball of Madison, Ala., Wesley Martin and his wife, Jennifer Martin of Murfreesboro, Ashley Martin Harris and her husband, Martin of High Point, N.C., and Alex Martin of Murfreesboro; four great-grandchildren, Shelby Ann Ball and Katelyn Michele Ball of Madison, Ala., Kingston Harris of High Point, N.C., and Hannah Martin of Murfreesboro.

Services for Armer Gene “Ms. Kitty” Montgomery, 78, of Lone Star, were held Nov. 2, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Interment will be in Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery in Ore City.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Marion County to Manse and Lannie Montgomery and died Oct. 30 in a Longview hospital.

Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Hughes Springs. Mr. Royal was born June 9, 1932, in Avinger and died Oct. 27.

Mr. Files was born Sept. 17,1942, and died Oct. 30. Family will receive friends Sunday 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Peggy Jo Barrow May

Peggy Jo Barrow May, 73, passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 30, after a courageous journey with breast cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Daingerfield with the Revs. John Stone and Don Ross officiating. Burial services will follow at the Nevils Chapel Cemetery, Farm-to-Market 1402, near Mount Pleasant. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. She was born on Nov. 1, 1939, in Titus County to Franky and Joe Barrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Opal and Lawrence May, and brother-in-law, Harold Kay May. Peggy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Decker Neal May of Daingerfield; daughter and husband, Robin and the Rev.
