Full name: Teneka Hamilton.
Place of birth: Mount Pleasant.
Family: Children Ja’Corian, Ja’Coby, Jaiden, Journee, and Khamry.
Pets: We have five cats.
Occupation: Outreach Health Provider, BoBo’s BBQ, student.
If I had a different job, I would be: I am hoping to become a pediatric nurse because I have a passion for helping children.
My hero is: God, because with Him all is possible and without him nothing is.
Next on my to do list is: Complete my education.
The best summer I ever had was when I: Was younger and went to San Antonio.
A cause I most believe in is: Stopping bullying.
The biggest honor I’ve ever received is: An award I received for saving my family from our house fire
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: Just having more opportunities.
The persons who have influenced my life most is: My children because they inspire me to strive for greatness.

Lone Star Steel celebrates 50 years in tubular expertise. Ceremonies were held at the plant for its 50th anniversary.
Daingerfield FFA won fifth place in meat judging at the Houston Livestock Show. Members are Ty Nix, Trevor Wilbanks, Evreda Rice, Kahyon Freeman, and Brandon Scheu.
Northeast Texas Municipal Water District celebrates its 50th anniversary.
20 YEARS AGO
Hughes Springs’ students make a good showing when given the Texas Assessment of Academics Skills test his year.
There were many winners as Lone Star Elementary students competed in the 20th Century Club’s art contest.
Mark Uhler, president of the National Bank of Daingerfield, presents a $500 check to Mark Scheu, agricultural science teacher at Daingerfield, for the FFA Chapter.

Happenings

Afterschool
Daingerfield Afterschool Centers on Education, ACE, offers bus transportation on Monday and Tuesday only.  All ACE students will be parent pick-up on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  April 22, will be the last day for ACE bus transportation. All ACE students will be parent pick up until the last day of ACE on May 23.  If you have any questions or concerns, contact the site coordinator, Shanta Lockett, at the junior high campus.

Music City Texas
Music City Texas Theater presents J.D. Souther April 12 at 8 p.m. For tickets, call  903-756-9934 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 
Book Club
The Noon Book Lovers Club will meet Thursday at the Daingerfield Public Library.  For more information call the library at 903-645-2823.

Choir Rehearsal
Unity Mass Choir Rehearsal has been scheduled for Friday, April 5, at 6 p.m. at the Allen-Rodgers Retreat Building in Linden. All choir members are asked to be present.

Full name:  Ruth Lynn Remsing.
I have lived in: I was born and reared in Howell, Mich. I lived in South Louisiana, and then moved to Daingerfield in 2007.
Family: My husband, Matt; daughters, Neta, Cassandra, and Odette.
Pets: A boxer named Bella; she’s 6 years old.
Occupation: Stay-at-home wife and mother.
One of the best things about my job is: Getting to watch my children grow up.
My ideal vacation is: Going on a Disney Cruise with my family.
My hero is: My husband. He’s taught me a lot through the years and to stand up for what I believe in.
My favorite TV show is: I love “The Walking Dead.”
My favorite healthy snacks are: Apples, grapes, and oranges.
A cause I most believe in is: Cancer research.
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: Nothing at all; I love it here.
