Christmas Program
The Unity District Association Youth Department will present its Christmas program on Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. at the Allen-Rodgers Retreat Building on Highway 155 in Linden. The evening highlight will be a drama called ‘Take me to the King.’ The public is invited.

M.O.M. Meeting
M.O.M. (Ministering Our Military) Support group will have its monthly meeting Dec. 19 at 6at the Hot Link Palace in Mount Pleasant.  M.O.M. is a group of military family members who come together to support and minister to those who have loved ones currently in the military, serving our country.  For more information, visit our Facebook page (M.O.M. Christmas Parade
The Hughes Springs Christmas Parade has been rescheduled for Saturday, at 1 p.m. with line up beginning at noon in the Mustang Stadium parking lot.

TxDOT hosts public transportation workshop

In an effort to better serve the state’s seniors and disabled citizens, the Texas Department of Transportation is hosting a workshop to inform the public and gather input on the growing transportation needs of local communities. The workshop will be held at the TxDOT Atlanta District Office, Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 1:30 p.m. in room 26. The district office is located at 701 E. Main St. in Atlanta.

Superbowl Champions

The Daingerfield Little League Tigers Freshman Team won the Superbowl Championship game on Nov. 23 at Pittsburg Pirates Stadium.  The Tigers have been undefeated all season. Players, from left, bottom row, are Alex Simpson, Jayden Wilder, Chase Johnson, Will Henderson, Daydrion Jimmerson, Matt Watkins and Phoenix WIlliams. On the second row are Manager TyKeylin Frazier, Jonah Walker, Jayden Wallace, Karter Pollan, Keshaun Singleton, Marlon Hayes, D’Corian Wright and Khaleab McKnight. The cold weather did not stop Jerry Mills and Jean Skipper, right, from ringing bells for the Salvation Army. The duo braved the weather and stood in front of Brookshire’s Grocery Store in Daingerfield to help bring Christmas cheer to others.

Lafayette graduates

E’bony Lafayette will graduate from Texas Women’s University with an executive master of business administration degree on Dec. 13 at Pioneer Hall in Denton.
A 2004 graduate of Daingerfield High School, she is the daughter of Rockey and Michelle Lafayette of Daingerfield and the granddaughter of Claudia Traylor and Thelma Mitchell and the late Terry Traylor and the late Johnnie Mitchell, and the late Joe Lafayette.
