Lynn Edwin Smyres, 93, of Avinger, died Dec. 18. Mr. Smyres was born Jan. 22, 1923 in Avinger. There was a viewing from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home. James “Bo” Rich Jr. passed away Dec. 18. Mr. Rich was born Dec. 17, 1922 in Naples. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Linden United Methodist Church. Services for Patsy Joyce Naron, 87, of Hughes Springs, were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Hughes Springs Cemetery. James A. “Pat” O’Rand of Linden, Texas passed away on this 19th day of December, at the age of 86. Mr. O’Rand was born March 19, 1930. Pat was raised in Bear Creek, Texas and made Linden, Texas his home.

Mr. O’Rand was a 32nd Degree Master Mason, Shriner and A Noble of the Mystic Shrine. He was a former member of the Young Farmer’s Association and Cass County Cattleman’s Association. He was honored by the American Legion for his honorable service in the United States Armed Forces and for his Outstanding Service and Loyalty to the United States of America. Mr. O’Rand was a member of the VFW Post 6968 and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Japan and Korea and the U.S. Army National Guard. Staff Sergeant James A. O’Rand received numerous Certificates of Achievement from the Commanding General for his outstanding athletic ability.

Services for David Paul Hall, 61 of Daingerfield, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kyle Miller officiating. Services for David Morrison McKinney, 66, of Lone Star, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Burial followed at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Mr. McKinney was born Feb. 16, 1950 and passed away Dec. 9.

Services for Jimmy Golden, 72 of Hughes Springs, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs. Burial followed at Dennis Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. Mr. Golden was born Jan. 8, 1944, and died Dec. 16.

 Services for Herbert Davis Young, 84 of Avinger, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church in Avinger. Burial followed at Avinger Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Herbert was born Oct. 16, 1932 and died Dec. 12.

Julia (Judy) Fay Holloway, 59, of Texarkana, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016. Mrs. Holloway was born Feb. 16, 1957 in Linden. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, at Center Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Don Brazile officiating. Burial followed in the Center Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

Services for Christopher Richard Duncan were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Christopher was born July 5, 1983 in Linden and died Dec. 10, at the early age of 33, in Hughes Springs.
