Services for Fay Gilmore, 89 of Mount Pleasant, were held on Sunday, Aug. 14 at Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Burial followed at Daingerfield Cemetery, under the direction of Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Ms. Gilmore was born on April 7, 1927, in Jefferson, and died Aug. 10.

Services for Constance Ann Terry, 73 of Lone Star were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the Nail- Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with Sammy Whatley officiating. Burial followed in the Clark Cemetery. Mrs. Terry was born on Jan. 15, 1943 in Marshall, to Lester and Lennie Catherine Rudder and died on Wednesday, Aug. 10, in Lone Star. Services for Norma R. Simpson, 71 of Avinger, were held on Friday, July 19 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed at Turkey Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Simpson was born Dec. 25, 1944, and died July 27.

Services for Earmon Neal, Jr. were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at First Baptist Church in Avinger. Burial followed at Mt. Moriah Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Neal was born on April 14, 1928, and died on July 23.

Funeral services for Manuel Bravo Gonzalez, 65 of Daingerfield were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Francis O’Dowd officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.

Manuel was born on Oct. 29, 1950 in Galeana, Nuevo Leon Mexico to Gumecindo Bravo and Sofia Gonzalez. He died on Sunday, July 24, in Daingerfield.

Services for Robert Hammonds, 78 of Daingerfield, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial followed in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Robert was born on March 31, 1938 in Omaha and passed away on Wednesday, July 27, in Longview

Services for Constance Rae “Connie” Lange, 83 of Ore City, were held Thursday, July 28 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Mrs. Lange was born on June 12, 1933, and died July 21 at her home.

Rufus Ronald “Bud” Poole was born Oct. 23, 1922 at McMahan’s Chapel in San Augustine County, Texas to Rufus Henry Poole and Bettie Aycock Poole.

His family moved to Avinger, Texas when he was two years old and he was a lifetime resident of the town. He was employed by R. H. Poole Lumber Company from 1946-1956 and by Lone Star Steel from 1956-1985. He was a past member of United Steel Workers Union Local 413, American Legion Post 351, and Avinger Lion’s Club. He was a lifelong member of Avinger United Methodist Church. He was a proud World War II veteran, serving in Europe from 1944-1946 and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a master gardener and shared his homegrown food and his gardening knowledge with family and friends. He loved fishing and taught his children and grandchildren to love it also. He was loving, patient, generous and kind to everyone.

Services for Dreka Onita Smith Brown were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Brown was born July 14, 1963 in Gilmer, and died July 23.

Services for Ms. Ruth Johnson were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Johnson was born Jan. 3, 1932 and died July 22.
