NICHOLS

Rickey Lynn Nichols, age 65, met his Lord and Savior face to face on June 10.

Rickey is survived by his beautiful bride Beverly Nichols; his faithful children, Tammie and fiancée Jason Beasley, Matthew, and Mark Nichols, and his wife, Melissa; his adoring grandchildren, Eden, Elias, Ellie, and Evann Nichols; his loving mother Bobbie Riddle and her husband, Eddie Riddle; and Rickey’s siblings Jeannie Godwin, Carol Nichols, and Sondra Turner. He is preceded in death by his grandparents T.V. and Ivy Simpson; sister, Donna Brooks, and Frank and Mary Burson.

Rickey was born on March 18, 1951, in Hughes Springs to parents Charles Nichols and Bobbie Riddle. He graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1970.

JONES

Services for Bonnie Jones, 75 of Lone Star were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Lilley’s Chapel Church of Christ with Kenny Shaver officiating. Burial followed in the Clark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.

Bonnie was born on February 26, 1941 in Jenkins to Alvin Thomas and Edith Esther Byrd. She died on Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Lone Star. Bonnie was a member of Lilley’s Chapel Church of Christ and a retired cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lewis Harold Jones, son Doug Jones and grandson Derek Jones.

Survived by her daughter Linda Huggins of Ft. Worth; sons Lewis Jones, Jr. and wife Sherry of Midlothian, John Alvin Jones of Midlothian, Larry Jones and wife Tina Sparks of Lone Star, and Tony Jones of Lone Star; brothers Chester, Lester, Dois, Loarn and Willie Byrd; sister Edith Sexton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

LOWE

Services for Ida M. Lowe were held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial followed at Mims Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Ms. Lowe was born March 14, 1931 and passed away May 27. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Ahern.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen Buitenwerf and husband Dries of Pekela, Netherlands; grandchildren, David Ahern of Las Vegas, Laurel Buitenwerf, Misha Buitenwerf, Amy Buitenwerf, Ashley Buitenwerf, and Christiaan Buitenwerf all of Oude Pekela, Netherlands; and son-in-law, Richard Aherns of Las Vegas.

CONKLIN

Murray Conklin, 65, passed away Sunday May 22, at
home in Bryan, TX. Born April 14, 1951 in La Mesa,
Texas, he was the only child of Jake and Juanita Conklin.
Murray was raised in Lone Star, and attended East Texas
State University. His life revolved around music. He was
a talented musician and an accomplished guitarist. He
toured the US with several bands and played in Texas for
over 40 years. Murray had an appetite for life and a
wicked sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, Stacey Conklin; sister,
Anita Leonard and nephew Anthony Wilson.

OWENS

 Danny Western Owens was born Oct. 2, 1938 and passed away May 17. Danny worked many years for E.G. McMillan at Piggly Wiggly and a number of years at Vineyards. He was the manager of Morris Twin Cinema in Daingerfield for 50 years where he will be fondly remembered as the ticket man. Danny was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and he enjoyed good food, family, and friends and spent his lifetime loving animals.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Elizabeth Owens; three sisters, Mary Redfearn, Louise Barton, and Della Owens; three brothers, Marky Owens, J.D. Owens, and Shorty Owens.

Danny is survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and friends; as well as employers and special friends, Walter and Beverly Bass.
