Rountree

Curtis Blayne Rountree enjoyed 89 years as a loving father, husband, brother and friend. On April 25, 2016, he went to be with his Lord and Savior, leaving behind his daughters, Prissy, Cathy, Leslie and Anita. His remaining family and friends are a living testimony to his impact on this earth.

He was born April 9, 1927 in Marietta, Texas to the late Earl Wayne and Mable Shaddix Rountree. His mother and father owned a grocery store and were the parents of 10 children: Earl Wayne, Curtis, Pat, Joan, Frank, Gaynor, Kathryn, Joyce, Linda and Rex. Growing up during the Great Depression taught Curtis at an early age that family outweighs possessions. This lesson was evident in the way he lived and loved.

BECK

Services for Max Beck, 84 of Daingerfield were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Daingerfield Church of Christ with Tim Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.

Max was born on January 10, 1932 in Winnfield to Bill and Euna Black Beck. He died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant.

He was a member of Daingerfield Church of Christ, veteran of the U S Air Force and retired from Region 8 Education Center.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kaye Beck and brother Buddy Beck.

Survived by daughters Melissa Slovak-Tucker of Mt.Pleasant, Susan Slovak-Gilbert of Daingerfield; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Paula Beck of Rowlett; grandchildren Micah Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Emma Gilbert, Kristen and Chris Payne, Taryn and Michael Helm, great granddaughter Kaylee Birney.

Services for Dorothy Mae Lewis Randle, 80, of Lone Star will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Randle was born February 9, 1936 and passed away April 28.

Herschel Hamilton of Center Point was born Sept. 2, 1955 and passed away April 21, at his home. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, at First Baptist Church in Cason. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Funeral services for Thomas Marvin Smith, Jr., 82 of Daingerfield were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson and Bro. Brian Finn officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Cason, under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Marvin was born on June 9, 1933 in Morris County to Thomas Marvin Smith, Sr. and Bertha Wood Smith. He died on Saturday, April 23, in Daingerfield.

Rufus Harold Gholston was born June 29, and died on April 14, at his home in Cason. Services for Mr. Gholston were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at First Baptist Church in Cason. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

McCoy

Services for Pansy McCoy, 79 of Hughes Springs, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Union Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. McCoy was born on Dec. 28, 1936 and went to be with Jesus on April 23.

She was a member of Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and also owned and operated the Fashion Carousel in Daingerfield for over 20 years. She loved her work, helping people and her loyal customers.

Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her parents, James Harrison and Emma Armstrong; loving husband, Melvin McCoy; brothers and sisters: Andrew Armstrong, J.C. Armstrong, Carolyn Gassett, James Armstrong, Jr., Della Yates, Olin Armstrong, Monroe Armstrong, Mozelle Pyland, and Wayne Armstrong.

COLLINS

Services for Travis L. Collins, 83 of Daingerfield, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at South Union Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Neil Clark, Bro. Chad Thompson, and Bro. Gary Griffith officiating. Burial followed at Spring Hill Cemetery in Rocky Branch, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Mr. Collins was born September 18, 1932 in Morris County, and passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Longview Regional Hospital. Mr. Collins was employed by Brown & Root Construction Co. He was a deacon at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church, loved the Lord, his family, baseball, and music.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Irene Collins; son, Travis Wade Collins; and brother, Billy Collins.

Robinson

Laura Robinson, age 61 of Daingerfield, passed away Sunday, April 3, in Daingerfield. Memorial service will be Wednesday April 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Church in Mount Pleasant with Pastor Dave Anderson, Pastor Randy Seybert, Bro. Scott Darby, and Pastor Johnny Knox officiating.

Laura was born in Kilgore on July 15, 1954 to Eddie Boyd and Lola Fae Tigert and married Jayce Robinson in Hillsboro, Texas on Feb. 5, 1972. Although she spent most of her time as a homemaker, she always found time to care for others, putting others needs above her own. She attended Calvary Chapel Church in Mount Pleasant and her favorite scripture was John 16:33.

She is survived by her husband Jayce Robinson; daughter Jennifer Blythe and husband Shaun; four grandchildren: and two great grandchildren; one sister; one brother; her mother in law; two sisters in law; and two brothers in law.

Kenneth Antoine Traylor passed away March 29. He was born June 2, 1963. Services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial followed at Rhodes Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
