Meliton Rodriguez Rangel, 73, of Linden died Saturday, Feb. 27, at his home. Mr. Rangel was born April 1, 1942 in San Juan De Guadalupe. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, at First Baptist Church in Linden, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Burial will be at San Jose Cemetery in Chihuahua, Chihuahua.

 Houston McCool, 65, of Gun Barrel City, TX passed away, March 3. Mr. McCool was born October 24, 1950 in Dallas. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, at Shiloh Cemetery with Bro. Jon Ward officiating and burial under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

GARRETT

 George Thomas Garrett, 88, of Bryan passed away Friday Feb. 26, at Generations Center for Senior Living. Funeral services were held Tuesday March 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with Rev. David Porterfield officiating. Burial followed at the Kurten Cemetery of Kurten, Texas.

George was born Sept. 18, 1927 in El Paso, Texas to Willie L. Collins and Ben B. Garrett. He grew up in Daingerfield, Texas and graduated from Daingerfield High School. He worked as a lifeguard while in high school and for the Cottonbelt Railroad Company in Dallas, after graduation. In 1949 he graduated from the Texas Department of Public Safety Training Academy in Austin. As a Trooper in the highway patrol he was transferred periodically and lived all over the state including Waco, Atlanta, Wichita Falls, Seymour, Brady and finally in Bryan.

Barron

Funeral services for Mary Sue Barron, 83 of Daingerfield were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Liberty Baptist Church in Naples with Bro. Shane Sibley officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta, under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.

Sue was born on April 7, 1932 in Morris County and died March 6, in Daingerfield.

She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband James “Jamie” Barron and son Charles David Brock.

HARMON

Herbert C. Harmon, of Boxelder, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, in Texarkana. He was born April 17, 1921 in his parent’s home in Hagarville, Arkansas. His parents were Paul and Maggie Harmon. Mr. Harmon graduated from Dover High School in 1942 after also attending school in Caledonia, Minnesota while in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Pearl Harbor at the end of the War. He returned back to Arkansas where he was in the saw mill business with his father. That business brought him to Red River County, TX in 1947. He met Julia Fay Gaddis and they were married January 18, 1948. Herbert moved to Hughes Springs in 1954 where he partnered with Dewey Moore to form Moore- Harmon Ford Motor Co. and worked until retiring in 1984. He and Dewey had many partnerships including cattle and airplanes. Many Sundays were spent flying his daughters back to the University of Arkansas.

WALLACE

John Wilber “Johnny” Wallace was born July 15, 1941 in Pittsburg, and passed away Feb. 25, in Hughes Springs. Johnny retired from Texas & Northern Railway after 38 years, most of those years as superintendent of transportation. He has been a member of First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs for more than 60 years. He was a deacon, serving as secretary and treasurer. He has served in the music ministry for 50 years in various roles, from choir member to interim music director.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. and Elma Katherine Wallace. He is survived by his wife 45 years, Kay Samples Wallace; sister, Carla Collins; children, Craig Wallace (Christina Wallace, Amanda Hartsiel, Aaron Wallace), Scott Wallace (Kari Wallace, Cody Wallace, Kasey Wallace), Wendy Middleton (Kent Middleton, Sina Middleton, Sean Middleton).

Memorial services for Dr. Harold Lee Mynatt, of Iowa
Park, were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the Nail-
Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Lawson
officiating. Lee was born on March 22, 1942 in Gary,
Indiana, and died on Feb. 15, in Iowa Park.

Dwaine Barthol was born Sept. 7, 1949 and died Feb. 19.
