Jo Ellen Whatley, 85, of Linden, died Thursday, Jan. 28,
at Linden HealthCare Center. Jo Ellen was born July 30,
1930 in Cass County. Services were held at 11:00 a.m.,
Monday, Feb. 1 at The First Baptist Church in Linden.
Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery under the
direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

HOWARD

Donald William Howard, of Avinger, was born Nov. 7, 1958 in Palo Alto, California and passed away peacefully Jan. 22. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Howard, Jr. of Fresno, California; and grandparents, Cecial Howard, Sr. of Fresno, California, Calvin and Hazel Randall of Hygiene, Colorado; and nephew, Roger Borba of Loveland, Colorao. Don is survived by his mother, Donna Johnson, of Hughes Springs; brother Jerry Howard and wife Jewel of Longmont, Colorado; three sisters, Terri Bowan and husband John of Ft. Collins Colorado, Melodie Estrada and husband Gabe of Livingston California, and Barbara Stock of Avinger; nieces and nephews, Bill Sullivan, Tracy Beavers, J.P.

Memorial services for James Roy Thomas, 61 of
Daingerfield, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at
First Baptist Church in Cason, under the direction of
Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.
Roy was born on Nov. 12, 1954 in Los Angeles, Calif.
and died on Monday, Jan. 18, in Dallas.

TRAYLOR

Services for Marion Glenn Traylor, 75 of Hughes Springs, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mr. Traylor was born Dec. 2, 1940 and passed away Jan. 20. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs, and he was also a man of many trades, past President Cass County Farm Bureau and former board member; past President of Cass County Cattle Association, graduate of Texas A&M Commerce with a master’s in business; former teacher and coach for Rains and Hughes Springs High Schools; past judge of Houston Livestock Show, he won area and second in state for land judging in FFA; in 1997 he was a winner of Cass County Farm Family of the year; he was also a lifetime cattleman. He loved telling stories about his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Mr.

GUNTER

Eula Pauline Carr Gunter passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, in Hot Springs, Ark. at the age of 92. Pauline, as she was better known, was born on Oct. 24, 1923 in Blunt County, Ala. to Luther Filo and Dixie Teague Carr. She married Ralph Eugene Gunter on June 22, 1939 and he precedes her in death. She is survived by three of her four children, Lynn Kimbell, Laura Kelly, and Betty Jasper, as well as six grandchildren. Her second born child, Brenda Moredock passed away in 2006 Mr. Gunter later moved from Blunt County, Alabama to Daingerfield, where she resided for almost 35 years. During this time, she was a business owner and was active in civic affairs. After retiring and selling her business, she moved to Hunt County, Texas and later to Hot Springs, Ark. A graveside service was held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, Jan. 25, in Omaha, at the Omaha City Cemetery with Rev. Dan Gilliam officiating, under the direction of R.W. Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City, Texas.

Mrs. Dejuana “Jean” Reneau Tanner, age 85, passed
away Sunday morning, Jan. 10. Mrs. Tanner was born
in Arkansas on Aug. 18, 1930. The family invited
friends and neighbors to the funeral services at First
United Methodist Church of Ore City at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 13. Burial followed in Ore City
Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis
Funeral Home in Ore City.

March 5, 1953 and died Jan. 8.

11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Liberty Baptist Church.

direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

Services for Mr. Charles Golden were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial followed at Creekmore in Naples under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. in Hughes Springs. Mr. Golden was born Nov. 19, 1937 in the Union Hill Community and passed away Jan. 9 at his residence.
