Services for Alma Ruth Davis, 82 of Avinger, were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Burial followed at Coffeeville Cemetery in Ore City. Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 25, 1933 and died Jan. 13.

It is with great sadness the family of Adeen Bingham Talley announces her passing on Jan. 9, just short of 86 years old. She was surrounded by her loving family at her side. Adeen was born Feb. 21, 1930 in Pima, AZ where she lived until she met Jack H. Talley and got married in Thatcher, AZ in 1948. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She loved doing her genealogy and spending time with her large family. Adeen was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Oliver Bingham; her son, Gregory Talley; a granddaughter, Amber Howell; a grandson, Adam Talley; and nine brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life for Derek A. Jones, 23 of Denton
was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Lone Star Baptist
Church with Rev. Rick Monds and Bro. Mitch Byrd
officiating.
Derek was born on Jan. 29, 1992 in Dallas, Texas and
died on Jan. 8, in Dallas.
Derek proudly graduated from Daingerfield High
School in 2010. He was excited to be a grown up and
live on his own in group homes. Derek went to live in
Denton, Texas in July 2014 near his mother. He
attended United Hands Dayhab daily where he made
many friends. Derek is remembered for his loving
spirit and joyful presence. He enjoyed going to
Wrestling matches and watching WWE on TV with his
Dad. He idolized wrestler John Cena and collected all
his action figures. He enjoyed counting his money and
going to Wal-Mart. Derek loved Mexican food; watching
Westerns & Walker Texas Ranger, and Wheel of

Services for Annie Ruth Biddy Brown, 77 of Avinger,
were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at First Baptist
Church in Avinger, under the direction of Reeder-
Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Additional
services took place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13,
at Old River Baptist Church in Mt. Belvieu. Burial followed
at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.

Memorial services for Colton Wayne Awtry, 23 of Goodyear, Arizona, were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Rocky Branch Church of Christ, under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Colton was born on Sept. 17, 1992 in Tyler, and died on Dec. 28, 2015 in Goodyear, Arizona.

Melba Glass Merrill, of Hughes Springs, died Saturday,
Jan. 2, at 69 years of age. She was born May 11, 1946 in
Houston to Albert and Gloria Glass. She was a homemaker.
Melba is survived by her daughter, Charlotte and
her husband, Phillip Woodruff of Hughes Springs and
two grandchildren, Autumn Alyse Denmark and Winter
Woodruff. She was preceded in death by her parents and
her husband, George Kent Merrill.

Services for Wilburn Leon Watkins, 84, of Hughes
Springs were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at First
Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Bramlett officiating.
Burial followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the
direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes
Springs. Mr. Watkins was born August 21, 1931 in
Hughes Springs and passed away January 5, in Lufkin.

Services for Barbara McLaren, 65, of Pittsburg were
held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Reeder-Davis
Chapel. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park
under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in
Hughes Springs. Mrs. McLaren was born April 18, 1950
and passed away Jan. 7.

On Jan. 6, Marvin A. Parvino was selected by God to be
gathered for his bouquet. He was born on Dec. 19, 1913
in Jefferson. Services for Mr. Parvino were held at 3:00
p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at First Baptist Church in Avinger.
Burial followed at Avinger Cemetery under the direction
of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

Services for Nettie Patman were held at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Turkey Creek Cemetery in Hughes
Springs, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral
Home in Hughes Springs.
