McCoy Services for Mr. John Melvin McCoy, 95, of Hughes Springs will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home. Mr. McCoy was born June 5, 1918, in Bryans Mill and died Feb. 12, in Hughes Springs. He was retired from the Navy where he served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and served in the Honor Guard for many years. John later worked for Thiokol Chemical in Marshall, owned and operated Western Auto in Naples for 12 years, and Tri City Farm Supply in Hughes Springs for 12 years. He enjoyed his jobs and loved working in the yard. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Alford, Leo, and O.L. McCoy.
