Children will learn how to make Ice Cream in a bag from Librarian Earline Walton. The program will be at the Morris County Annex, beginning at 10 a.m.
July 27 Football Equipment Pickup
Junior and Senior football players for Daingerfield High School can come check out equipment between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the field house.

June 22-24 13 and 14 year olds Baseball Camp

The Pittsburg Pirates are hosting a Baseball camp for 13 and 14 year old boys and girls. Cost is $40 per player, and includes a t-shirt. Registration will be onsite beginning at 7:30 a.m., and the camp will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The camp is open to baseball and softball players from all surrounding towns, and is open to baseball and softball players. More information can be found on the Pittsburg Pirate Baseball Facebook page.

June 23 Dru Woods, storyteller

The Hughes Springs Area Library invites children of all ages to come hear storyteller Dru Woods as part of the library’s summer program. Admission is free, and the program will begin at 10:30 a.m.

June 6-30 Children’s Summer Feeding program

Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD will once again be serving free sack lunches to any child, 18 and under during the Summer Feeding Program. In Lone Star, meals will be at the Lone Star City Park at 11 a.m., and at Country Square Apartments at 11:30 a.m. In Daingerfield, lunches can be picked up at the City Park at 11 a.m. The program is free for all children ages 18 and under.

June 16 Kornpop the Clown

Kornpop the Clown will visit children at the Morris County Annex at 10 a.m. on June 16. The event is free and open to all children. The Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library is hosting the event.

June 16 Professor QB the Magician

The Hughes Springs Area Library will host Professor QB, the Magician, as part of their summer program. The program is free, and all children are invited.

June 7-9 Annual Revival

The Pine Bluff Baptist Church, located on Highway 250, between Marietta and Hughes Springs, will be hosting their annual revival on June 7 through 9 at 7:30 p.m. Speakers for the three nights will be Reverend D.L. Fluellen, Reverend Eddie Matthews, and Reverend A.R. Miller. Host pastor Reverend Roy Miles cordially invites the public to attend.

May 26 Speech Pathology Master’s Program Meetings

Region 8 Education Service Center will host a series of meetings about the Speech Pathology Master’s Program, which was designed to address the shortage of master’s level speech/language pathologists in Texas public schools. The program is a partnership with the Texas Education Agency and Texas Woman’s University. Awareness meetings will be held at Region 8 Education Service Center, 4845 U.S. Hwy. 271 N. in Pittsburgh, Texas on April 27 and May 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those interested can register by calling Deborah Biddy at 903-575-2756. All potential applicants must attend one of these meetings.

The Iron Bluff Cemetery Meeting originally scheduled for May 21 has been postponed due to illness. A new date for the meeting will be published at a later date.

May 22 Pastor Anniversary

Hughes Springs Community Church will host Celebration Services honoring Bishop Jessie and Frankie Biles’ first year anniversary. The celebration will be Sunday, May 22, at 3:00 P.M. Special guest speaker will be Pastor C.D. Mitchell of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Daingerfield.

May 23 CASA Volunteer Training

CASA of Titus, Camp and Morris Counties will be holding CASA Volunteer Training starting May 23, 2016. As a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer, you are a voice making a difference at a critical point in a child’s life.
