Fire Department. Firemen will talk
to children about fi re safety. Come
prepared to get wet. The event will
begin at 10:30 a.m. at the library
and refreshments are provided. All
summer library events are free of
charge.
Ice Cream in a Bag
DAINGERFIELD – The Daingerfi eld
Public Library will an “Ice Cream in
a Bag” event. Come make your own
cool summer treat. The event will
begin at 10 a.m. at the Morris County
Annex, and will be free of charge.

Spelling Bee
The Daingerfield-Lone Star Educational Foundation
will hold their annual Spelling Bee on Friday, Jan. 27 at
the Daingerfield High School Cafeteria. A BBQ meal will
begin at 6 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for
children. Come join the fun.

Dance Class Registration
The Community Theatre of East Texas will host registration
for their upcoming dance classes on Saturday,
Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Information for classes

Avinger United Methodist Church will host a community- wide Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

December 24 Rudolph’s Red Nose Run

The fifth annual Rudolph’s Red Nose Fun Run 5k will take place Christmas Eve morning at 7:30 a.m. The course will start on Coffey Street in Daingerfield, near the round-about. The event is free, so come join the fun and run off that last minute Christmas stress.

January 1 First Day Hike

Come start the New Year off on the right foot with a First Day Hike and Daingerfield State Park. Meet at the trailhead at 2 p.m. Wear sturdy shoes, bring bottled water, and a hiking buddy for a Ranger-led 2 mile hike around the lake.

The Fourth Annual Christmas in the Park event will occur on December 16 and 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Daingerfield State Park. Take a drive through the park and see the beautiful Christmas lights and decorated campsites. Come see Santa Claus at the Pavilion where he will take last minute requests from all the kids. All of the park’s entrance fees will be waived as our gift to you and your family! Arrive early since this is a very popular event.
