Researchers in family relationships identify a sense of humor or laughter as an indicator of strong families. When family relations become strained or the family experiences difficult financial times, laugher is harder to generate, or may cease to exist.

Brant travels by horse through Morris County on his more than two-year trip

A man riding a horse, pulling another horse and a mule, accompanied by an Australian Shepherd caught the attention of many Morris County residents last week as he was traveling through the county headed south. Bryan Brant camped near South Union Baptist Church May 7 for the evening.
 
Originally from Kansas, Mr. Brant said he began his trip near St. Louis, Ill. and continued south to Cairo where he followed the Ohio River through Illinois and crossed a ferry into Kentucky.

Early voting will begin May 19 in the primary runoff election

Early voting in the primary runoff election will begin May 19 and end May 23. In Cass County, there will be a runoff between candidates running on the Republican ticket for District Clerk. The contenders are Jamie Price Albertson and Pam Jaynes.
 
Also on the Republican ticket there is a runoff between David M. Alameel and Kesha Rogers for United States Senator; and a runoff between Jim Hogan and Richard “Kinky” Friedman for Commissioner of Agriculture.
