Students graduate as physical therapist assistants

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at Northeast Texas Community College recently learned that its graduating class of 2013 had a 100% pass rate on the first attempt for its state licensure exams. According to program director Dr. Nancy Wilson, this is the sixth year in a row that the program has had all students pass on the first try.
“Our past and present graduates have been very successful with passing the state licensure exam; most finding employment prior to graduating,” Dr. Wilson said.

The PTA program at NTCC is a competitive, 17-month program that prepares students for a career as a state licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. For more information about the program – including career tracks, admissions criteria, etc. – visit www.ntcc.edu/pta or call 903-434-8124.

Larry Gatlin to appear at Whatley Center on April 5

In 2008, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers performed on the Northeast Texas Community College campus before a packed house at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Gatlin will return for an encore with an intimate, solo acoustic performance on April 5 at 7:30 p.m.
This unplugged concert will feature Gatlin telling stories about his life through multimedia presentations and songs from his childhood. This personal and heartwarming show will provide a glimpse into the life of the beloved country superstar.
“We had a phenomenal response when Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers performed on our stage a few years ago and we have had many requests to bring them back. This concert with Larry is really a unique opportunity to go learn more about the motivation behind the music and to hear his tremendous vocals without distraction,” Carolyn Franks, director of the Whatley Center, said.
