District Champions

Hanson earns All-Star Track Team honors

Deandra Hanson was selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association as an All-Star to be a member of the All-Star Track Team for the 2014 season. A committee made the selection based upon her achievements that she made throughout the 2014 track season. Hanson participated in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star program July 10 and 11 in Arlington.
 
She was recognized along with other All-Star members during halftime of the All-Star Basketball game on July 11. In addition, she was selected to be a member of the All-State Track team for 2014. Hanson is a 2014 Daingerfield High School graduate. She recently has signed a track scholarship with Texas A&M Commerce.

District Champs

Hughes Springs All Stars 10 and under captured the District Championship June 30. Team members, from left, are Trapper Golden, Jacob Neal, Stone Sampson, Mason Page, Eric Dennis, Cade Walker, Rashead Lee, Gabe Owens, Parker Jenkins and Ryan Vaughan. On the back row are Coaches William Page, Ronny Golden and Marcus Owens. The team will play in state tournament competition in Texarkana July 12 – 15.

Teammates capture Most Valuable Player awards

Dylan Moore, graduating senior at Hughes Springs High School, captured the Most Valuable Player in District 26-2A after his dominant season that finished with a 15-1 record on the mound. Chad McKinney of Hughes Springs was awarded the Defensive Most Valuable Player award.
 
Voting was conducted by the District coaches.
