Omaha Car Show to be held Sept. 13

The Omaha City Park Board is sponsoring the Third Annual Thunder in Omaha Car Show at the Omaha City Park on Saturday, Sept.13. Special trophies will be awarded to the Best of Show, Best Car, Best Truck and Best Restored Original.

Commissioners change vote on employee insurance

Morris County Commissioners rethought their Aug. 11 decision regarding employee health insurance and met Aug. 15 to change that decision. Commissioner Michael Clair made a motion to amend the 2014- 15 employee health insurance plan by rescinding the employee contribution part. Commissioners unanimously approved the motion.

It hasn’t taken a long time for a Ryan Shaver to get near the top of the game of baseball. The 12-year-old Daingerfield resident and Chapel Hill Independent School District student, participated on the winning team at the PeeWee Reese Tournament at the World Series held at Tao Baja in Puerto Rico.

Trucker strikes overpass; loses load

Rush hour traffic was turned into one lane on Highway 11 in Daingerfield when an 18-wheeler lost his cargo after striking the railroad overpass on Highway 11 on Aug. 13.
