A third generation hair stylist has opened a beauty shop in Hughes Springs. Shawna Russell opened the Bea Hive Beauty Salon located at 101 W. Third St. in Hughes Springs, following a traditionof styling hair by her mother and her grandmother.

PhyNet purchased the clinic in Hughes Springs from Good Shepherd Medical Center. The Hughes Springs Clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and will be closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
Music City Texas Theater hosts the 12th Annual Summer Bluegrass Show on Saturday, Aug. 16. Hickory Hill has just completed recording of a new CD slated to release Aug.13. Titled “The Kings of Texas Folk-grass,” the CD includes a mix of bluegrass, country, folk and even some rock & roll tunes in an original style honed through more than 35 years of performing.
