Daingerfield man jailed in stabbing

A Daingerfield man is behind bars after an investigation by law enforcement agencies proved him to be involved in an aggravated assault that occurred on Sept. 12. Daingerfield resident Mikel Fisher, 49, was apprehended last week and has been booked at the Morris County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the alleged stabbing of a local citizen, which are second degree felonies. Treasure Trails is Oct. 10 and 11

Well over 1,500 wine lovers made their way to Avinger's Wine Festival Sep. 20 to taste wine from a number of Texas wineries. City Manager resigns after two years of service

Daingerfield City Manager Carl Teel will be leaving the City of Daingerfield this week to take on a new position as City Planner for the City of Texarkana, Ark. Teel resigned last week on Sept. 16 due to family responsibilities. “It was a difficult decision to make,” Teel said, “because the City of Daingerfield has been a very good place to work. The Daingerfield Alumni Association will hold its annual distinguished alumni dinner on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Daingerfield High School cafeteria. A steak dinner prepared by the Daingerfield Volunteer Fire Department will be served before the award presentations.

Blythe cleans up Lone Star Park

Childhood memories and a move back to his hometown spurred an East Texas man to develop a favorite spot back to the place it was when he played ball there and swam in the lake. Lone Star Police Investigator Steven Blythe grew up in Lone Star and the city park was one of his favorite places.
