Tigers down Clarksville, 61-0

By Nick Counts

After a slow start to the season, falling in two close matches against solid teams, the Daingerfield Tigers let their frustrations out on the Clarksville Tigers with a 61-0 blowout at Mickey Mayne Tiger Stadium.
The Daingerfield boys scored early and often, getting off to a quick start by scoring on a Malik Higgins pass to Keaton Key just two minutes into the game.
That connection proved to be good enough that they went to it again three minutes later, as Higgins hit Key again for a 6-yard touchdown reception with 5:35 left to go in the first quarter.
The Daingerfield Tiger defense came up big against Clarksville throughout the night, causing constant four-and-outs by the Clarksville offense along with several turnovers on the night.

Mustangs slay Redwater Dragons, 47-7

By Rick Colegrove

The Dragons from Redwater visited Hughes Springs Friday night for a tilt with the Mustangs.  Things started out a little unsettling for the Home team, with the Dragons taking their first drive of the game down to the Hughes Springs four-yard line in just three plays. Redwater crossed the goal line on the next play and led 7-0.
Having watched game file on the Dragons, Coach Edwards thought that they were going to be physical with the Mustangs, but he also stated that he thought the team responded well and that the Mustangs ended up being even more physical.
